Navy Limits Enlistment to Recruits that Score Below 10 on the ASVAB
With enlisting quotas at an all time high, and kids enlisting at an all time low, there’s only one solution - lower your standards.
“I told them to lower their standards, but I didn’t know it would be the standards of those who entered the Navy,” said the former MCPON, who got fired for suggesting sailors live in mild discomfort occasionally. No one actually remembers what his name was. Imagine being the highest ranking enlisted person in the Navy and your whole career is reduced to one bad quote. Sucks to be him.
At press time, the Navy was continuing its pattern of prioritizing new, smooth-brained, mouth/breathing recruits over experienced sailors with watch standing experience that would make a difference in a gunfight. Those experienced sailors are now leaving the Navy to go to college or be higher-paid contractors that the Department of the Navy is still paying for. It makes total sense.
